DYNAMIC POSITIONING SURVEYS:

FAILURE MODES & EFFECTS ANALYSIS (FMEA) & GAP ANALYSIS: The Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a mandatory requirement for all vessels fitted with a dynamic position system. The objective of the FMEA is to identify any single failure that may lead to a total loss of position. We provide you with a FMEA report which describes and critically analyses all systems that have the potential to affect DP operations, including power generation and distribution; Power management; propulsion's and thrusters; position references and sensors as well as DP control systems etc.,

The FMEA gap analysis makes a comparison of an existing system or DP class with a potential system or new DP class to identify areas that need upgrading in order to comply with applicable requirements of the new DP class etc. Recommendations are then made to ensure compliance with applicable standards and to improve the performance and safe operation of the vessel.

DP PROVING TRIALS (ACCEPTANCE & ANNUAL): DP FMEA proving trials (acceptance) are carried out to fully test and verify that the vessel's DP system configuration conforms to the FMEA report.

We provide you with a comprehensive factual report detailing all findings and any recommendations required to ensure that the vessel is capable of maintaining position after a single point failure associated with the assigned DP equipment class.

Annual DP trials will ensure that the DP system has been maintained in accordance with applicable standards and in good working order such that no single point failure will cause a loss of position. Prior to witnessing DP trials, we prepare vessel specific test sheets in compliance with the expectations of UKOOA, IMCA and IMO guidelines for all dynamically positioned vessels which fundamentally should prove that no single point failure will cause a loss of position. Annual surveys should be carried out three months before or after each anniversary date of the initial survey.

DP VERIFICATION & ASSURANCE AUDITS: We provide comprehensive verification and assurance audits, inspections and sea trials, including testing of all DP related systems; DP Operator's experience and competence assessment etc. to verify that vessels equipped with dynamic positioning systems and their DP operators are functioning correctly as expected. Recommendations are then made to ensure safe and efficient operation of vessel specific dynamic positioning system.

DP OPERATIONS MANUAL: EmGlobe Maritime Ltd. DP Operations manuals are vessel specific and provide guidance in the planning, preparation and safe performance of DP operations. The DP Operations manual contains a description of the DP system, DP guidelines, Capability plots, DP checklists, DP trial procedures, FMEA, Incident reporting etc. in line with IMCA M 109 sec 3.2. Our DP Operations manual are designed to assist the vessel crew and owners to establish safe and efficient operational procedures and working practices that will improve the vessel's safety and reliability during DP operations.
